Eating well is such a huge part of my life now and has made such a difference in how I think and feel. So when clients come in, they all know, I almost always ask what they had to eat? Why?? Because we are what we eat!! Acupuncture helps to balance us out but if your diet is still hit or miss and you are skimping on food for sake of speed, money and "no feel like cooking"……sorry but it will affect you and catch up with you PDQ. It absolutely has to be your number one priority whether you are trying to conceive or just trying to make it thru the stresses of life, let alone infertility! But make it fun! Key is to plan ahead, buy the groceries then be motivated to cook. Tonight was one of those nights where I just could not get motivated but I came up with an easy pineapple/rosemary topped pork chops wrapped in bacon with sliced sweet potatoes baked along the side and a dark leafy green salad made for a savory dish with of course my pumpkin pie custard for dessert. Oh and I felt soooo much better after this meal. Picked my dumpy mood up right away. Now for a walk. Sleep well.

HAPPY CONCEIVING….
When woman I work with, really take the time to consistently eat well and cut out the refined sugars, alcohol, coffee, glutens, eat more hormone free, grass fed protein, organic greens and healthy carbs like root vegies and some fruit, get some exercise in, good sleep and decreased stress, I believe they double their chances of conceiving along with the acupuncture and herbs twice a week for at least 3 months. If you are doing the above only here and there, the success is not as quick if at all. Plus you will feel the difference in how you feel! A little discpline goes a long ways. Might be tough at first but the results are pretty rewarding in more ways than one!
HAPPY CONCEIVING….
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I made this savory pumkin pie custard in small ramekins this weekend and after the last of 4 of them tonight, I decided yum, it tastes just like Mom's pumpkin pie without the crust!
And best yet, it is as easy as pie if not easier to make, no crusty mess if you know what I mean and lighter on the tummy. Now I just need a larger ramekin to bake it in, to share on Thanksgiving day. It is super easy to make other than making sure you have enough water to fill the pan you baked them in. I baked them for an hour and would probably make extra to fill the dishes up a tad more. Coconut milk(full fat), 2 eggs, maple syrup, vanila, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and of course pumpkin puree(I used the organic canned)

Life Emerges From Nothingness…..or so it seems…..from stillness within…from the essence of God
Jesus says "be still and see"
I love what Morgan Freeman here says about "learning how to be still and let life happen", most of us live in resistance of what happens to us especially the obstacles along our path and yet all of it, even our mistakes lead us in the right direction when we are not in resistance or fear. Okay so something did not work out. Stop for a second and just be still before acting right away….you will be surprised how you will be led just by being quiet and still. Then from this place of serene peace, life emerges on its own. Much like the women in the last several weeks that announced their thrill of pregnancy. Nothing delights me more. Thank you God and keep them safe in your heart.

DID YOU KNOW THAT IN THE FIRST 12 WEEKS OF PREGNANCY A BABY IS TOTALLY DEPENDENT ON MOM'S THYROID?
Thyroid hormone is critical to normal development of the baby’s brain and nervous system. During the first trimester, the fetus depends on the mother’s supply of thyroid hormone, which comes through the placenta. At around 12 weeks, the baby’s thyroid begins to function on its own.

In this article, it says how the baby is strictly dependent on the Mother's thyroid hormone in the first 10-12 weeks.

Inositol and PCOS
Inositol and PCOS
Even if you do not have PCOS, Myoinositol is proving to be beneficial for Fertility. Between stress and the modern American diet, we all have degrees of subclinical Metabolic syndrome. Most of us love our carbs. Even on a Paleo regimen, when you have waited too long to eat and your body is screaming for food but your too famished to prepare that protein satisfying, dish with vegies, you may find yourself like me, grabbing an apple with almond butter because lo and behold you waited too long to eat, despite a quick energy pick up that is never sustaining, so you just eat more quick carbs. This use to be my trend of eating. Hence relying on carb support for energy, creating an underlying set up for more insulin output, leading to more insulin resistance or poor insulin receptivity within the cells. For me this led to my gum disease. Had I continued eating this way and not found Paleo, I might even have diabetes by now. Dont' be fooled that eating natural sugars like fruit, honey, stevia or natural maple syrups is better. In fact, fructose is sometimes harder on the liver if eaten in excess. Lesson most of us Americans need to learn, to prevent this cycle, is, don't wait to eat and do not skip protein, fat rich meals so you do not get to the point that your blood sugar is dipping. Yes, I said fats cause they are what really sustain your hunger, like bone broth. And be sure to include plenty of water soluble greens and root vegetables as your best source of carbs. Prepare ahead of time. You will feel less burnt out and more balanced. Even hypo-glycemia can lead to pre-diabetic issues. Perhaps Myoinositol can help with the cascading events that can lead to subclinical or full fledged clinical issues of PCOS and other ovarian issues of infertility and insulin resistance but I always say start with diet first.
